Southern Copper Corporation's stock has risen significantly, reflecting resilient copper prices and ambitious growth plans in Peru and Mexico. Over the past year, shares have increased approximately 20%, trading in the mid-70s in U.S. dollars, up from the low-60s, as investors remain optimistic about the company's role in the electrification and green infrastructure sectors.
In 2026, several major museum openings are anticipated, including the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, designed by Frank Gehry, which will be the largest Guggenheim outpost globally at 42,000 square meters, focusing on post-1960s art from West Asia, North Africa, and South Asia. Additionally, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles, founded by George Lucas, is set to open in September after a lengthy development process. The European Union plans to establish a memorial in Luxembourg Square to honor the victims of Nazi and Soviet totalitarianism, designed by British architect Tsvai So. The project, named "Envoy," will feature fragments of letters from emigrants and political prisoners, with about 800 citations selected from a pool of 39,000 letters. Scheduled to open in 2027 during Lithuania's presidency of the Council of the EU, the memorial aims to promote a unified European perspective on the history of World War II.
