Artnet and Artsy have merged under a unified leadership structure, with Jeffrey Yin serving as CEO and Andrew Wolff, founder of Beowolff Capital, as chairman. The two platforms will maintain their distinct brands and websites while consolidating their infrastructure and data, aiming to enhance their offerings in the online art market, which reaches over 7 million users across more than 190 countries. This move follows Beowolff Capital's acquisition of a controlling stake in Artsy and the decision to take Artnet private last year.
Art Dubai Revises 2026 Participant List Amid Conflict
Art Dubai has announced a revised list of participants for its postponed 2026 edition, now scheduled for May 15-17 at Madinat Jumeirah, following the withdrawal of around 75 galleries due to the ongoing US-Israel war in Iran. The fair will feature 50 regional and international galleries and implement a new 'risk-sharing' booth fee model, waiving stand costs in favor of a percentage of sales. Notable absences include O Gallery and Dastan Gallery from Tehran, as well as several Indian galleries that had previously participated.
LACMA to Open New Galleries in April 2026
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is set to open its new David Geffen Galleries on April 19, 2026, following a construction cost of nearly $724 million. Designed by architect Peter Zumthor, the galleries will showcase 6,000 years of art history and feature 110,000 square feet of exhibition space, along with 3.5 acres of public park. The project, which has been in development for over 20 years, aims to transform LACMA into a global art hub, supported by significant contributions from figures such as David Geffen, who pledged $150 million.
Crystal Bridges Museum Installs Historic Tiffany Window
The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas, has installed a historic Tiffany window, Mountain Landscape, created by Agnes Northrup in 1917, after acquiring it from Sunset Ridge Church in San Antonio, Texas, last year. The more than nine-foot-tall window, which was previously roped off due to insurance concerns, is now showcased in a turquoise-colored alcove within the museum's Visions of America Galleries, following a months-long conservation effort. This installation coincides with the museum's 15th anniversary and precedes a significant expansion set to be completed in June.
