In response to the increasing demand for electricity driven by artificial intelligence, major engine manufacturers are rapidly deploying gigawatt-scale power solutions to support data centers, which have become significant energy consumers. Toyota Raises Tender Offer to ¥20,600 per Share
Toyota Group announced an increase in its tender offer price to ¥20,600 per share to privatize Toyota Industries, responding to pressure from activist investor Elliott Investment Management. This revised offer represents a 26% premium over the original tender offer price and a 10% premium over a previously announced increase. Elliott, the largest independent shareholder of Toyota Industries, has agreed to accept the new terms as part of the $38 billion deal.
BYD reports 41.1% drop in February vehicle sales
BYD Co. reported a 41.1% decline in vehicle sales for February compared to the same month last year, marking its steepest drop since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The world's largest electric-car maker sold 190,190 vehicles last month, including 187,782 passenger vehicles, as domestic demand waned following a record-long Lunar New Year holiday that disrupted production and retail activities. This decline follows six consecutive months of falling sales for the company.
