Oldest known rock art discovered in Indonesia
Researchers have identified the world's oldest known rock art, a hand stencil from Liang Metanduno cave on Muna Island in Indonesia, estimated to be at least 67,800 years old. This finding, reported by archaeologist Adhi Agus Oktaviana and his team, predates previously known rock art in Sulawesi by 16,600 years and surpasses the age of Neanderthal hand stencils in Spain by 1,100 years. The discovery suggests that early Homo sapiens in the region had developed artistic practices much earlier than previously believed.

Engineered Proteins Enhance MRI Imaging and Drug Delivery
A study has demonstrated that engineered magnetically sensitive proteins can be tracked using an MRI-like approach, which may enhance imaging tools and enable remote-controlled drug delivery. The research involved characterizing magnetic nanoparticles through various measurement methods, including scanning transmission electron microscopy and dynamic light scattering, to analyze their properties and interactions in different magnetic fields. The findings indicate that nanoparticles with diameters of 20–25 nm exhibit optimal performance for both imaging and therapeutic applications.
