Judge Dismisses Musk's Lawsuit Against OpenAI
US District Judge Rita F. Lin dismissed Elon Musk's lawsuit against OpenAI, ruling that xAI failed to provide evidence of any misconduct or trade secret theft by OpenAI. The judge noted that while some former xAI employees admitted to taking confidential information, there was no proof that OpenAI induced them to do so or that it used any stolen trade secrets. Although the lawsuit was dismissed, xAI has the option to amend its complaint and refile.
Nvidia Receives License to Export H200 Chips to China
Nvidia Corp. has secured a U.S. government license to export a limited quantity of its H200 chips to China, marking a cautious step towards re-entering the Chinese semiconductor market. The license allows for shipments subject to U.S. inspection and a 25% duty, although Nvidia has not included any potential revenue from these exports in its first-quarter sales outlook due to uncertainty over whether Chinese authorities will permit the imports.
