Huawei Launches Atlas 950 SuperCluster to Compete with Nvidia

Huawei Technologies has unveiled its Atlas 950 SuperCluster, its first overseas AI supercomputer, claiming it can rival Nvidia's systems in the global AI hardware market. The new supercomputer is said to deliver 6.7 times the computing power of Nvidia's upcoming NVL144 system, although independent analyses indicate that Huawei's capabilities are hampered by manufacturing limitations and performance gaps, with its Ascend 910C chip achieving only about 60% of the inference performance of Nvidia's H100. Despite these challenges, Huawei aims to enhance its AI computing influence through large-scale cluster architectures and government support.
