CoreWeave secures $21 billion deal with Meta for AI cloud

CoreWeave Inc. has secured a $21 billion agreement with Meta Platforms Inc. to provide AI cloud capacity through December 2032, expanding their existing partnership. The deal aims to support Meta's growing demand for AI infrastructure, utilizing the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform across multiple locations to enhance performance and scalability.

First Conviction Under Take It Down Act Secured

James Strahler II, a 37-year-old man from Ohio, became the first individual convicted under the Take It Down Act, a federal law aimed at combating nonconsensual AI-generated intimate imagery. Strahler pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including cyberstalking and producing child sexual abuse material, after creating over 700 AI-generated images of victims, including minors, and possessing an additional 2,400 images of child sexual abuse material. His conviction is seen as a significant step in enforcing the law, which was enacted in May 2025.

xAI sues Colorado over AI discrimination law

Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Colorado to block the enforcement of Senate Bill 24-205, a new state law requiring tech companies to implement safeguards against discrimination by autonomous tools in employment and other sectors. xAI argues that the law imposes unconstitutional burdens on AI development and compels developers to embed state-preferred views into their systems, which it claims would necessitate changes to its flagship AI model, Grok. The law is set to take effect on June 30.
