Dan Norris, a 66-year-old independent MP for North East Somerset and Hanham, has been rearrested by Avon and Somerset Police on suspicion of multiple sexual offences, including rape, sexual assault, voyeurism, and upskirting. Norris, who was initially arrested in April 2025 on similar charges, including child abduction, was suspended from the Labour Party following his first arrest. The ongoing investigation, which began in December 2024, has concluded inquiries into allegations of sexual offences against children but continues to examine other allegations dating from the 2000s to 2020s.

UK Home Office to Crack Down on Illegal Migration Ads
The UK Home Office will enforce a crackdown on social media advertisements promoting illegal migration routes starting Monday, with offenders facing up to five years in prison under the Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Act. Border security minister Alex Norris stated that the National Crime Agency (NCA) will monitor thousands of social media accounts to target those advertising illegal crossings, particularly middlemen known as 'service agents.' Last year, the NCA shut down over 10,000 accounts linked to people smuggling, and 933 individuals have arrived in the UK by crossing the English Channel in small boats this year.
