The war has also impacted supply chains for agricultural products from other regions, such as Tanzanian avocados and Kenyan tea, with growers facing significant price reductions and market access challenges.

Drone strike on Sudan hospital kills 64 during Eid

A drone strike on el-Daein Teaching Hospital in East Darfur, Sudan, killed 64 people, including 13 children, and injured 89 others during Eid al-Fitr, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The Sudanese army denied responsibility for the attack, which the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attributed to an army drone, claiming it caused extensive damage to the hospital. The WHO condemned the targeting of healthcare facilities, noting that over 2,000 people have been killed in attacks on health care during the ongoing conflict, which has resulted in more than 150,000 deaths and displaced nearly a third of Sudan's population.
